Paul Pope, the National Enquirer scion who battled his mother Lois over money in court for years, has written a tell-all, “Confessions of a Rich Kid From Hell,” and founded charity Save Our World as part of what he’s calling his “rebirth.”
Pope’s mom filed a restraining order against him in 2013, claiming his “cruel behavior” was causing her to “suffer substantial emotional distress” and “fear for her safety,” after he was accused of stalking her and had filed a suit against her alleging fraud and excessive spending.
But while Pope would not comment on his mother or tell us whether or not his family feuds will be included in the tome, he says he’s reformed.
“Everybody reaches the different stage in your life,” he said. “For me it was having children . . . telling my story has been cathartic, doing that has been a therapeutic thing.”
And, “I’ve come out of all that, this Caligula-type place,” he said, explaining the book and charity “came from wanting to help people . . . You ask if I have any regrets? I go from a no apologies, no compromises, I am who I am, that’s how I live my life.”
The book’s due out in six months.
